GUARANTEES AND CERTIFICATES

Guarantees

Greek law requires a builder to guarantee his work against structural defects.  There are no NHBC or Zurich type Building Guarantees Schemes available in Crete.

However, your Architect/Engineer will be responsible for defects due to poor supervision, incorrect instructions given to the Contractor, or problems resulting from incorrect foundation design.

Certificates

The following Certificates (where applicable) should be available to the Employer on completion of the works:

• Certificate relating to the strength and quality of the concrete used in the works,
• Energy Performance Certificate,
• Certificate confirming that all IKA Payments have been made
